House 4One
Completed in 2008, the “4ONE” House boasts a living area of 133 square meters (1,439 square feet). Designed on a plot adjacent to an old park, the building seamlessly blends contemporary architectural sensibilities with traditional manor house elements, evident in both its exterior and interior forms. The building plot was not originally part of the park; it was only incorporated into its boundaries in the late 20th century.
The house was conceived as a weekend retreat with the potential for year-round occupancy in the future. Its clear and open layout is divided into two zones: a daytime area encompassing the living room, kitchen, dining area, and study, and a nighttime area comprising bedrooms separated by a bathroom with WC, accessible from the corridor. All rooms have access to a terrace, ensuring excellent panoramic views of the park. This resulted in a three-wall structure with a flat roof, which helped reduce construction costs.
Due to the unique character of the surroundings, the design maximizes glazing, allowing the park’s greenery to permeate the interior of the house. The building’s form is further inspired by orangeries and garden pavilion architecture. The eastern façade is designed in the spirit of traditional architecture, employing carefully selected materials and a symmetrical layout with a wooden pergola supported by four columns. The remaining façades, processed on the basis of the building’s plan, are further accentuated by a contemporary, simplified frame-portal form on the north and south sides. Optimal living conditions are ensured through the use of a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery and solar panels.
